I’ve been a Governor at Knypersley and Kingsfield since November 2016 and am proud that my children attend Kingsfield. The children, staff and senior leaders are an amazingly hard working team and are real assets to both schools.
The schools are going through a very exciting growth period as members of the Children First Learning Partnership and I’m really pleased to be able to give back by being a member of the local advisory board. I bring 10 years of experience running my own business and providing IT services into education settings as well as experience from my time working with a large international bank.

As a governor I want to ensure that the schools continue to give 100% and more into our children’s start in education which is so important for them to thrive later in life. I want to be a part of making the schools and school community the best it can be.
I have worked in education for over 15 years and currently work in Further Education at Cheshire College. I work with a wide range of students starting at the age of 14 +, all at different academic levels and learning needs.
I am married to Mark, a busy mum of two boys Ollie and Charlie, who currently attend Kingsfield and are about to start their learning journey in year 4. I have step children also, Sam and Leon that have now started their working careers after finishing school and university.
As a family we love to travel, spending time exploring countries and cities, our favourite been Florida. When we are not travelling you will usually find us spending time with our extended family, eating and enjoying quality time together. When I get the chance (with a house full of boys and lesson planning, this isn’t often) I love to read a good book!

Myself and my family have grown up in Biddulph and attended Biddulph Schools, my daughter now attends Kingsfield so when the opportunity arose for a Governor role it felt like the perfect chance to be able to give something back to the community that a live in and also be able to influence the experience my daughter will have on her education journey.
I have worked in Coop Food stores for 15 years and recently moved into HR, this will bring new perspective into my role as a Governor along with my experience of leadership and the importance of community. I have a genuine care for people and want everybody to have fair and equal opportunities.
I am also a member of Biddulph Running Club and enjoy the challenges and rewards that it brings by not only running but the people that I get to meet along the way.
My proudest achievement is being awarded the British Empire Medal on the Queen’s 2021 Birthday Honours List for my service to the community and the Retail Supply Chain during the Pandemic.

As a governor at Kingsfield I am keen to work with the fantastic staff to ensure that the school continues to provide the best possible start to every child’s educational journey. Helping all children achieve their very best potential through the opportunities that being part of the Children First Learning Partnership provides.
I work in health and safety compliance for an outdoor activity company called Go Ape! which is an amazing job. Its not everyday that your work involves you climbing a high ropes course or riding segways! Up until 2023 I worked as an Environmental Health officer for a local authority, inspecting businesses and enforcing health & safety and food hygiene legislation which gave me a lot of experience in enforcement and regulation.
I am married to Ralph and have two children that keep me busy. Alice has finished her Kingsfield journey and is now at Middle School and Max is coming to the end of year 4. They both very much enjoyed their learning & experiences at Kingsfield and were sad to leave the school and the amazing teaching staff.
As a family we love to head out walking, bike riding and spending time with friends. I volunteer and help to lead a local Girlguiding Rainbows unit and when I eventually get some spare time, I love nothing more than reading a good book!

I am excited to become a member of the local advisory board at Kingsfield and look forward to being part of Children First Learning Partnership. As a father of two children attending Kingsfield and a former pupil myself, this is my opportunity to give back to the community that I have lived in all of my life.
As a qualified secondary maths teacher and a senior leader at a local secondary school, I bring a wealth of education experience. I am particularly passionate about inclusion and safeguarding wanting to ensure that we provide the perfect environment for our children to be the very best version of themselves.
Outside of my role as governor, I am sport-mad with a slight obsession with Stoke City FC and enjoy following the club up and down the country.

I have worked at Kingsfield First School for over twenty five years. During this period of time I have taught throughout the school and have taken on a variety of responsibilities, including being a governor for over a twelve year period and now the Headteacher. Kingsfield First School is a very big part of my life and I am passionate about the school being a central part of the Biddulph community.
I have two children, who when I am not at school keep me very busy, even though they are both now fully grown! Sport, music and art, play an important part of our family life, my game is tennis, although I have not played for some time. I also enjoy gardening but only when the sun shines!
